A day after a restaurant in Washington allegedly booted White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, co-owner of the restaurant, Stephanie Wilkinson has made it clear that she was ejected from the restaurant so that they could uphold the certain standards. Her comment comes hours after Sarah Sanders alleged that she was kicked out a Virginia restaurant because she works for the United States President Donald Trump.

Recalling the incident, Sarah Sanders on Twitter said, “Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so.”

Stephanie Wilkinson, co-owner of Red Hen in Lexington, told the Washington Post that she received a call from her restaurant’s chef that staff is little concerned. Following the conversation, she rushed to the restaurant.

Sanders supports the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop, Jack Phillips, who refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple in Colorado.

After reaching the restaurant, Wilkinson said she starting discussing with her staff how they wanted to move on, it happened at the time when Sanders’ party had some appetizers on the table. Wilkinson confessed that she herself approached the Sanders and asked her to leave the restaurant, citing certain standards which they have to uphold.

Calling decision’s taken by the Donald Trump administration unethical and inhumane; she added that this feels like the moment in the democracy when people have to make actions and decisions to uphold morals.

According to Wilkinson, Sanders left the restaurant by saying that’s fine, I will go. Along with Sanders, her party also left the restaurant. Wilkinson said that White House official and her party offered the restaurant to pay the amount, but she denied them, saying that there was no charge for their order.
