French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday, June 19, told a teenager to call him ‘Mr President’ instead of taking his nickname. The incident happened during a public gathering in Paris, when French President was meeting and shaking hands with the school children. The video that is doing round the internet shows, how a student dared to call and greet French President saying “How’s it going Manu?”
In reply, Mr Macron said, “No, you can’t call me that…” The young man was waiting for the French President with his school friends during his visit to the Mont Valerian fort near Paris.
The teenager also realized his mistake and apologized to him. The French President could have ignored student’s mistake but he took the matter ahead and said “You’re here, at an official ceremony and you should behave. You can play the fool but today it’s the Marseillaise, the Chant des Partisans [French Resistance song], so you call me ‘Mister President’ or ‘sir’. Ok? There you go.”
Macron added that the day you want to start or stand for a revolution you have to go by order, you have to read first to get a degree and feed yourself, Ok? And then you can lecture others.
The video of talk between the French President Emmanuel Macron and a student is trending on the internet. The French man himself has faced criticism many times for his blunt language.
