Chinese electronics giant, Xiaomi, launched a series of products during its annual product launch event in Shenzhen, China, on Thursday, May 31. The users were expecting a series of upgrades in different segments as it was required too. Thus Xiaomi, besides the flagship smartphone Mi 8, introduced series of updates to the other sections of the products too. While Mi Band 3 is catching a lot of attention, MIUI 10 was something that Mi users were eagerly awaiting. Notably, Xiaomi announced a brief timeline of MIUI 10 China ROM for their smartphones. According to an official MIUI forum post, a closed beta of MIUI 10 China Developer ROM will be released for selected smartphones starting from June 1.
However, the release date of MIUI 10 for India is not confirmed yet. Coming to its features as reported by NDTV, includes a revamped task manager, gesture controls and AI portrait mode for enhanced Bokeh shots. When it comes to clicking Portrait shots, AI Bokeh mode in MIUI 10 will take the photography to next level. It will also work in the smartphones that lack depth-sensing sensor or does not have a dual-rear camera on board. AI will help the users to open the apps instantly that are used more by the users. MIUI 10 also features a revamped task manager to leverage the full potential of a taller, full-screen display. MIUI 10 will support 16:9, 18:9 and 19:9 aspect ratios and make use of the taller displays with newer gestures.
According to reports, the first few smartphones that will get a closed and public beta of MIUI 10 China Developer ROM include Mi 8, Mi MIX 2S, Mi MIX 2, Mi MIX, Mi 6X, Mi 6, Mi 5, Mi Note 2, Redmi S2 and Redmi Note 5. A closed beta is only open for developers. A public beta can be downloaded by all users.
The company also announced three new smartphones and Mi Band 3 during the Shenzhen event. The phones that were launched on Thursday are Mi 8, Mi 8 SE and Mi 8 Explorer Edition.
