Indian athletes have been performing outstandingly well at the Tabor Athletics Meet in the Czech Republic. Star sprinter Hima Das has won 4 gold medals in last 15 days and made the country proud. She claimed her recent medal in the 200m race, which completed in only 23.25 seconds. Her personal best is 23.10. Das was followed by VK Vismaya who secured the second position with her season-best 23.43.
The 19-year-old Indian star has won 4 gold medals since July 2. In 2019s, her first competitive 200m race, Hima Das took only 23.65 seconds and bagged gold at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poland. The second medal came at the Kutno Athletics Meet’s 200m race in Poland, where she took only 23.97 seconds to finish the race.
On July 13, 3rd gold arrived, when she won the 200m race and clinched gold at the Kladno Athletics Meet clocking 23.43 seconds. Hima Das usually represents India in the 400m event. Despite her outstanding performance in the 200m race, she is yet to qualify for the World Championships in both the quarter-mile event and the 200m.
She needs to clock 23.02 seconds time in the 200m to qualify for the World Championships, while in the 400m event it is 51.80m.
On the other hand, Muhammad Anas made the nation proud in men’s 400m race by bagging 400m race in 45.40 seconds. Tom Noah Nirmal came second with 46.59 seconds’ time. Followed by K S Jeevan, third, and MP Jabir who came fourth. 45.30 seconds is the qualification time for World Championships in men’s 400m race.
