Indian sprinter Hima Das has made the country proud yet again with her athletic prowess as she claimed her fourth international gold this month after she won the top spot in women’s 200m event at the Kladno Memoarial Athletics Meet in Kladno on July 12, Saturday. It was only a week ahead that the sprinter had won her second gold on July 7 in the 200 metre category of the Kunto Athletics meet in Poland. On July 2, in her first competitive 200m race of the year, Das had clocked 23.65 seconds to win her first gold in July at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix which was also in Poland.

Let’s not forget that Hima won her third gold on July 8 at the Kutno Athletics meet in Poland only. She clocked 23.97 seconds to win the gold while Kerala runner VK Vismaya had grabbed silver with a timing of 24.06 seconds. Hima’s personal best timing is 23.10 seconds which she tamed last year.

In the men’s category, national record holder Muhammed Anas also won gold in them men’s 400m race as he clocked 45.21 seconds to bag the top honours.

Hima, however, has been struggling with a back problem. The Nagaon-sprinter is also reigning world junior champion and a national record holder in 400 metre. Earlier, in Kunto Athletics meet in Poland, she had clocked 23.97 seconds to finish ahead of VK Vismaya who clocked 24.06 to clinch the silver.
