World’s no 1 ranked player and reigning champion Novak Djokovic beats eight times Wimbledon champion Roger Federer. This epic and historic final match will surely take place in the book of the all-time greatest final in the history of Wimbledon.

Novak Djokovic won the enthralling battle after winning a nail-biting encounter against the Swiss genius Roger Federer by 7-6 (7-6), 1-6, 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 13-12 (7-3). The match went into the fifth set tie-break for the first time in Grand Slam singles history. The roller coaster match was the longest final ever in Wimbledon history.

Djokovic won the first set in a tiebreaker where Federer dominated the second set. It seemed that Federer is set to lift the Wimbledon trophy for the ninth time in his career but it was Djokovic’s steadiness which proved why he is the no1 player of the world.

However, the night belongs to Novak Djokovic as he lifted his 16th Grand Slam title of his career.
