SBI’s Anshula Kant becomes first woman CFO of World Bank Group: The World Bank Group has appointed Anshula Kant, Managing Director (MD) of State Bank of India, as the next MD and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the international financial institution. In a statement released by World Bank Group president David Malpass, it was noted that she would take care of the financial and risk management of the World Bank and report to Malpass.
Kant will be the first woman appointed as CFO of the bank. In the past 35 years, while working as CFO of the State Bank of India, Kant aced the field like finance, banking, and innovative use of technology. Kant will be working with Bank’s CEO to mobilise financial resources and her responsibilities also include risk management and financial reporting.

The statement released by the World Bank further read that Kant has excelled at a diverse array of leadership challenges including risk, treasury, funding, regulatory compliance and operations. ” I look forward to welcoming her to our management team as we work to increase our effectiveness in supporting good development outcomes,” the statement read further.
Her qualification includes an Honours degree in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College and a post-graduate degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
