Punjabi rapper Taran Kaur Dhillon aka Hard Kaur is openly supporting pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) in a series of videos posted on social media. The SJF is spearheading a campaign for Khalistan – separate homeland for Sikhs in Punjab. Hard Kaur can also be seen in the video supporting Referendum 2020 and appealing to people to vote for Khalistan.
Even though the government of India has declared the SFJ an unlawful association and imposed a ban on it last week, the Punjabi rapper was seen wearing a Punjab Referendum 2020 Khalistan t-shirt and heaping praise on slain terrorist leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
Kaur has also tagged Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal in one of her posts.
In July 2019, the Punjabi rapper was booked for sedition. A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against the UK-based singer for referring Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as rape man and blaming RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for various terrorism-related crimes.
