Following the heavy rainfall in Mumbai, a part of a footbridge collapsed at Andheri station on Tuesday morning, the Hindustan Times reported. Reports said that the after the incident the suburban local train services have been affected. The incident took place at around 7:30am hitting the rail and road traffic. Besides the Gokhale bridge that collapsed, the overhead wires structures were also damaged. The bridge connects Andheri East and Andheri West and the incident has affected the Western and Harbour line. Reportedly, two pedestrians also got injured during the incident, but there has been no official confirmation yet.

Meanwhile, the operations to remove the debris has been initiated and also the overhead wires are about to be fixed in a bid to resume the train services. The halted locals made several commuters to jump off the local trains and started walking on the tracks.
