A two-year-old boy was sexually assaulted allegedly at a play school in Kolkata’s Thakurpukur on Monday, July 2, reports said. Parents of the minor recently lodged a complaint with the Thakurpukur police on Wednesday and alleged that the playschool authorities have deleted the CCTV footage to avoid consequences. Based on parent’s complaint, the police have registered the FIR and initiated a case under the Pocso Act. According to a report in TOI, the incident might have happened during a Doctor’s Day programme when the students and other staff members were dressed as doctors and patients.

The victim’s father revealed that his wife found their child irritated and crying when she went to bring him back home on Monday. He said that the boy did not say anything, however, there was a change in his behaviour. On further asking, the boy revealed that “the doctor has fondled with my back.” TOI quoted the victim’s father as saying.

The victim’s mother also found blood coming from his rectum and there was a swelling as well. After consulting a paediatrician, it was revealed that some sexual assault might have been committed on him.

The father further added that the next day when they went to meet the principal, he denied the possibility of any such incident. When they asked him to show the CCTV footage, he said that they don’t have the footage from June 27 to July 3 due to some unknown reasons.

The father has further alleged that the playschool authorities have allegedly deleted the CCTV footage to cover up the entire incident. He added that after the incident his son cannot walk properly. The incident has surfaced a day after a teacher at a prominent school was arrested for sexually assaulting a Class 11 girl.
