Denying the allegations of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Chinese authority in West Bengal on Friday, June 22, claimed that Chinese side was still working to make the possible arrangements for her 9-day visit to China. The Chinese Consulate General said that Chinese officials were working hard for Chief Minister’s visit. Chinese officials were in touch with the Indian embassy in Beijing and were shocked when the announcement of the cancellation of her visit was made.
Briefing reporters, the Console General of China in Kolkata said that they have taken the fact that West Bengal CM has announced to cancel her China visit.
The official said that Chinese side gives priority to every step to improve the relationship with India. Every possible talk should be exchanged between both the countries.
Although our Ambassador in China had tried his best to make the programme a success, non-confirmation of the political meetings at the appropriate level as proposed by the Indian Ambassador to China, at the last moment, has unfortunately compelled us to cancel the visit.

The officials were working hard to arrange all for the CM’s visit to China including her arranging her meetings with Chinese high command.
Mamata Banerjee’s had planned to visit the neighbouring country just 2 weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to China. The TMC chief was supposed to meet the Chinese officials and businessmen in Shanghai to convince them to invest in India.
Indian Ambassador Gautam Bambawale had made many efforts to make CM’s trip a successful programme but it cancelled due to some unconfirmed plans by the Chinese authorities.
On the other hand, Chinese official denied the allegations of West Bengal Chief Minister saying Chinese authorities were fully prepared and had worked hard to make all the arrangements. They also claimed that Chinese side was still working to make the possible arrangements for her 9-day visit to China.
