Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and legislator from Rampur Azam Khan kicked off another controversy saying UP CM Yogi Adityanath had told him that Taj Mahal is a Shiv Temple. The senior SP leader said that he has no problem to demolish the monument. Talking to reporters, the Samajwadi leader said that not only the Chief Minister but also several ministers have said the same thing about the Mosque built in Agra.

Sparking a fresh controversy, Azam Khan added that he will surely get around 20,000 Muslims to demolish one of the 7 wonders of the world. Making scattering remark he said UP CM Yogi Adityanath will be the first person to demolish the Taj Mahal.

It’s not the first time that SP leader had given such controversial statements, earlier, he had said that national monuments like Rashtrapati Bhawan, Red Fort, Parliament and Taj Mahal are symbols of slavery.

Azam Khan is not the only one who believes that Taj Mahal was a Shiv Temple, BJP MP Vinay Katiyar, in view to reports of UNESCO, Taj Mahal was originally a Shiv Temple.

Joining the chorus, BJP leader Sangeet Som had said that world heritage site was built by traitors.  BJP leader’s statement was criticized by many people across the country. The statement from BJP leader came had a few days after the famous monument was excluded from the booklet from UP tourism.

In relation to killings of journalist Gauri Lankesh and Shujaat Bukhari, Azam Khan had said that PM Modi is busy posting fitness videos even when the country is witnessing a spate of killings of soldiers, journalists, labourers and the common man.
