Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat has been transferred and appointed as Governor of Gujarat. While Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Kalraj Mishra has been appointed as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh on Monday, July 15, 2019, the ANI reported.
President Ram Nath Kovind made the announced on Monday Morning. Both appointments will be effective soon.
Devvrat has served as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh since August 2015. The JAT pracharak, who completed his post-graduation in Hindi from Panjab University in 1984, has served previously as the principal of a Gurukul in Kurukshetra.

He also worked for a pollution free environment and was closely associated with campaigns against female foeticide and Beti Padhao-Beti Bachao campaign. He has travelled to Europe and South East Asia for spreading education about Indian culture.
Kalraj Mishra served as a three-term member of Rajya Sabha 1978, 2001 and 2006. He also served as Cabinet minister in Government of Uttar Pradesh. He was holding the portfolios of Public Works Department, medical education and tourism from March 1997 to August 2000.
Mishra began a campaign for crater-free state highways. Apart from that, he played a significant role in the formation of Uttarakhand.
Mishra, who was a member of the Rajya Sabha three times, had won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Deoria constituency in Uttar Pradesh. However, in the 2019 general elections, he was given no responsibilities by the BJP.
The 78-year-old BJP leader was born in eastern UP’s Malikpur.
