A seven-year-old boy died after falling into an open drain. The incident took place at Dharavi’s Rajiv Gandhi Colony at around 3 pm today. Police rushed to the spot immediately and pulled up the boy from the open drain. The boy was rushed to the Sion hospital, where he declared dead by the doctors.

This is the third such incident this week. A two-year-old boy fell into an open drain in Mumbai’s Goregaon on Wednesday. In CCTV footage, it showed that the boy walked in the road. He took a few steps back while mistakenly slipped into the open drain.
A 12-year-old boy died after he fell down into a water-filled pit, dug for the road construction near Worli. The boy, identified as Bablu Kumar Paswan drowned in the trench near Worli sea link on Friday at 1.20 pm, said an official of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Meanwhile, the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) demanded strict action against civic officials and also claims that such incidents are taking place due to the negligence of the civic officials of Mumbai.
