After completing successful 20 years, filmmaker Karan Johar’s romantic drama titled Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, is all set to receive a special screening at the 10th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). Actor Shah Rukh Khan will attend the festival as chief guest. Feeling elated over the screening, Karan Johar said in a statement that 20 years of a journey had been rewarding.
He continued saying that time was well spent over telling stories and also had freedom to be a storyteller. Filmmaking is his passion and the deep-rooted love for cinema. The whole decades is very gratifying. Released in the year 1998, the film featured Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles. While actor Rani Mukerji was featured in a supporting role and Salman Khan made a guest appearance.
Speaking about IFFM, Karan Johar said to a leading daily, visits to the festival before had been a wonderful experience. He is looking forward for another opportunity to celebrate Indian cinema. Besides, Karan Johar will also have a conversation on cinema with an Australian audience at the film festival. The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne will take place between August 8 to 17.
On the work front, Karan Johar will be directing a historical period drama film titled Takht. Takht will be a multi-starrer film featuring Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor. The movie is written by Sumit Roy. He will also produce Ayan Mukerji’s film Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
Earlier, Karan Johar directed Ae Dil Hai Mushkil featuring Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma-Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles.
